Cooking vegan is much like non-vegan cooking most of the time. However, there are a few gadgets and small appliances you may find helpful in preparing your own healthful foods.
Handy to have: Blenders, juicers, spiralizers, ice cream makers and other kitchen appliances at Amazon.com.
Our personal favorite appliance: Vitamix blender. We use ours for daily breakfast smoothies and making cashew cream with organic cashews and enough water to blend - very smooth without needing to soak.
Cashew cream is naturally sweet and a great base for vegan ice cream with no added sugar. I blend mine in the Vitamix with some frozen mango chunks and enough water to blend. Instant yumminess!
Also avocado / cucumber soup in summer. (One peeled and pitted Haas avocado, one cucumber, and salt to taste.) Mmmm... I'm hungry.
